Account data (your email address and subscription status), the content you create (conversations, companion settings, saved memories, scenarios, and generated images), and minimal operational data (usage counts for quotas, safety classifications, and technical logs needed to run the service).
Conversations and images are processed by AI models that we host on our own infrastructure. Your chat content is not sent to third-party AI providers, is not used to train third-party models, and is never sold. Companion “memories” are stored so your companion can recall them in future conversations — and every memory is visible, editable, and deletable by you in the app. While private mode is active, automatic long-term memory reads and writes are off; chat history and context remain available. Automatic saving resumes afterward with best-effort filtering of known private turns and echoes. Indirect references may still be saved. Older messages have no reliable private-mode marker. You can still explicitly save a chat memory.
Blocked requests (a short excerpt, the category and time) are logged and may be reviewed by Emberlight staff to enforce the content rules and meet payment-processor requirements; they are deleted with the account.
Beta payments and activation are arranged manually. We record subscription status and administrative billing notes. Do not send card details through chat or support. Any payment service you separately agree to use has its own privacy policy. We also keep the notice versions, text, allowance snapshots and timestamps you accept. This acceptance history is included in your export and removed when you delete your account.
Your content is retained until you delete it. You can delete individual memories, conversations, or companions in the app, export everything you have created as JSON, or permanently delete your account data from the privacy page — these controls remain available even if your subscription has lapsed.
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except as needed for a manually agreed payment arrangement or where required by law. Your conversations stay on our servers.
Emberlight is an 18+ service and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. Accounts believed to belong to minors are removed.
