Emberlight (“the Service”) is an AI companion application operated at emberlight.chat. It provides conversational AI companions with persistent, user-controlled memory, optional roleplay scenarios, and AI image generation. All companions are fictional, AI-generated characters.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use Emberlight. During onboarding you must affirm that you are an adult. We may suspend accounts we reasonably believe belong to minors.
Access is currently invite-only. Invite codes are limited and may be single-use or multi-use with a redemption cap. You are responsible for activity on your account. During the beta, your invite code together with your email may be used to sign back in; keep both private.
Group invites include a free trial (typically 7 days) with no payment details required. After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription at the rate presented to you at signup. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor; Emberlight does not store your card details. You can cancel anytime, effective at the end of the current billing period. Refunds for partial periods are at our discretion. If your subscription lapses, your data is preserved and export/deletion controls remain available to you.
You may not use the Service to: create or request content depicting minors in any context; depict or impersonate real people; create non-consensual, exploitative, or illegal content; harass others; attempt to breach, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service; or resell access. Optional adult content is available only to age-affirmed accounts that enable it, and must remain within these rules. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
Companion responses and images are generated by AI. They are fiction: companions are not conscious, do not have feelings, and may produce inaccurate or inconsistent output. Nothing in the Service is professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or psychological). Emberlight is entertainment and is not a substitute for human relationships or mental-health care. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
You retain ownership of the messages you write. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the Service (storing and processing your content to generate responses, memories, and images). You can export your data or permanently delete it at any time from the privacy controls in the app. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with data-deletion rights preserved where lawful.
The Service is provided “as is” during the beta, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
We may update these terms as the beta evolves; material changes will be announced in-app or by email, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
